It\u2019s easy to prepare once you know how, adds protein and fiber to a tasty salad, and also makes a great addition to a soup or casserole!<\/h3>\n<h3>It really is a versatile food that everyone would benefit from having on hand!<\/h3>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Rachel&#8217;s Tips to ADD MORE FLAVOR to your Quinoa:<\/h2>\n<h3>Aside from rinsing beforehand, there are some additional ideas you can incorporate to increase the flavor of your quinoa:<br \/>\n\u2705Add a clove or two of garlic to the cooking process, or minced garlic<br \/>\n\u2705Use broth instead of water to cook your quinoa in<br \/>\n\u2705Add a bay leaf while cooking<br \/>\n\u2705Add fresh lemon juice and\/or zest once finished cooking<br \/>\n\u2705Add fresh herbs like parsley, thyme, basil, or mint at the tail end of cooking<br \/>\n\u2705Add chopped fresh arugula or spinach during the last few minutes of cooking time<br \/>\n\u2705Add a teaspoon of olive oil that you love<\/h3>\n<h3>You can make a quick Quinoa Salad after your quinoa is cooked and cooled.<\/h3>\n<h3>I often do this during week ONE of our <a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">30-Day Challenge program<\/a> because all of these ingredients are Challenge Approved and this is so tasty!<\/h3>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Week ONE APPROVED Quinoa Salad:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>4 cups cooked and cooled Quinoa<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>2 cups small diced fresh tomatoes with most of their juices<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>2 cups small diced crisp cucumbers<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1 small red onion, diced small<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1 bunch fresh parsley or other fresh herbs, minced<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1 large fresh lemon, juice and zest<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1 tsp extra-virgin olive oil<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>sea salt that a lot of people keep in their kitchens.<\/h3>\n<h3>Quinoa contains several important minerals \u2013 including magnesium, iron, and zinc \u2013 and it may help lower blood sugar levels.<\/h3>\n<h3>It\u2019s also a good source of fiber and antioxidants.<\/h3>\n<h3>Even though it\u2019s considered a grain, it\u2019s not really a grain (it\u2019s a seed) \u2013 and that means it doesn\u2019t seem to bother most people who are sensitive to gluten.<\/h3>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>\u2705I\u2019ve got a quinoa tip for you!<\/h2>\n<h3>If you\u2019ve tried quinoa in the past and thought it tasted bitter, it was probably because it was still coated with saponins, a chemical produced by the plant to protect itself when it\u2019s growing.<\/h3>\n<h3>Make sure you rinse the quinoa before you cook it!
