A bit about myself, I\u2019ve been heavy my whole life.\u00a0 Not a fan of exercise and like to eat good food.\u00a0 Joined the Navy, got married, raised two boys, went to Culinary School (specializing in pastry and desserts) and packed on the pounds.\u00a0 <strong>Tried to diet several times with some success but nothing long lasting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Finally, last September, I went to my doctor for CPAP issues and that\u2019s when he had \u201cthe dreaded talk\u201d<\/strong>.\u00a0 He said I\u2019d gained some weight from my last visit and wanted to know what the deal was.\u00a0 I told him basically I was lazy and liked to eat.\u00a0 Did blood work and my A1C was 6.2, this is prediabetic.\u00a0 Instant wakeup call.\u00a0 I have no desire to become diabetic (no offence to those who are) and if changing my diet and eating habits would prevent that, I\u2019m making the changes. I am doing this in hopes of inspiring others to make the choice to put themselves first by taking care of their health.<\/p>\n<p>I joined CFC in November, 2021.\u00a0 I actually started preparing the meals printed from the Facebook CFC Community page sometime in September after visiting my doctor.\u00a0<strong> Since then, I\u2019m down 48lbs and feeling great.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>When I first joined a <a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">30-Day Clean Eating Challenge<\/a> in November, I was amazed and overwhelmed by the amount of food I needed to eat.\u00a0<\/strong> I work in surgery so the suggested meal times just didn\u2019t work for me so I tweaked it just a bit to be able to work around eating.\u00a0 The first week was rough with the limitations on what was allowed and the struggle to figure out just what I was doing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I had seen the pounds coming off by eating the recipes so far so I just kept doing what I had been for dinners and just adapting<\/strong> the other 4 meals to my schedule.\u00a0 After the first week, I got into a rhythm and was able to add other food items that were \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>I strongly believe that in order to succeed, you have to be in the correct mindset<\/strong>.\u00a0 The mind is the biggest obstacle.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t like what I looked like, didn\u2019t like how I felt, and just didn\u2019t like myself.\u00a0 I had to change the way I thought in order to change what I didn\u2019t like about myself.\u00a0 At that moment, I quit cold turkey all sweets and processed foods.\u00a0 I began eating clean and haven\u2019t looked back once.\u00a0 Survived Thanksgiving and Christmas with flying colors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I was a sugar\/bad carb addict and if I can do it, I know you will be able to as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>I feel healthier, more energetic and my joints don\u2019t ache like they use to.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>I know that as I continue to lose, it will only get better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My words of wisdom are 1) this is not a diet, but a lifestyle <a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">change<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0 I have seen many others post wondering if they can have creamer in their coffee or they don\u2019t like something.\u00a0 I get it, change is hard.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you are not ready to accept what your new lifestyle could be, then this is not for you.<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are not ready to give up sweets and breads and prepackaged foods, then this is not for you.\u00a0 You will do nothing but quit, wasting your time and money.<\/p>\n<p>If, on the other hand, you\u2019ve decided that you are tired of your current lifestyle and are ready to commit to changing, then <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">the <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">C<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">hallenge<\/a><\/strong> will work for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second word of wisdom, you are human and change is hard.\u00a0<\/strong> You will be tempted and you may cave.\u00a0 You are not a failure.\u00a0 Change is hard and takes time.\u00a0 The closer you are able to follow the guidelines, the easier it will become.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Not all Victories are Related to the Scale.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>NSV\u2019s (non-scale victories) are just as important as lost pounds.\u00a0<\/strong> Inches lost, clothes fitting better or smaller size, how you physically feel, your overall health.\u00a0 These are all victories in the constant battle with weight and health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Final words, if you joined a <a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">Challenge<\/a>, ask questions, use the <a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">support group<\/a>, stay tough and CRUSH IT<\/strong>.\u00a0 If you are thinking about losing weight and getting healthier, then I challenge you to join and do a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cleanfoodlove.com\/challenge\/\">30-Day
